Essex Girl Book
‘Essex Girl’ tells the story of my Pudney family in North East Essex, from the first mention of the name in 1379 through to the twentieth century.
I visited and painted many of the places that the Pudneys lived in the past, and the book contains 27 images of my paintings, as well as extracts from the parish registers, 16th and 17th century wills, newspaper reports, letters and photographs.
The book is 17cm square, has 57 pages, and is printed on premium lustre paper with a glossy soft cover.

Twelve Months on an Essex Island Book
The book of my 2022 painting project, Twelve Months on an Essex Island’ - visiting Mersea Island off the Essex coast each month through the year.
The book contains all twelve images of my monthly paintings plus the 12 images of the monthly ‘Findings’ pastel drawings. Alongside each painting image are the notes I made that month about everything I saw and heard.

Twelve Months in an Essex Field Book
The book of my Twelve Months in an Essex Field 2020 painting project. The book is 17cm square with a glossy soft cover. It has a short introduction about the field itself, with a map, followed by twelve double page spreads showing my painting for the month opposite all the notes I made about what I saw and heard - the birds and other wildlife, the trees, the hedgerows and the wildflowers, the changes in the field crop - plus an additional double page spread about the July harvest of the oil seed rape. Then follows a double page spread showing all twelve of the 'snippings' drawings - twigs, flowers, berries, seed heads - in their Tiptree jam-jars. Finally, there are the four extra small paintings that I made during the year. The whole project in one book!

Twelve Months in an Essex Wood Book
'Twelve Months in an Essex Wood' tells the story of one year in Hillhouse Wood at West Bergholt just north of Colchester using words and pictures.
The pictures are images of the twelve paintings - one a month - which I completed through the course of one year.
The words are the notes about the trees, plants, flowers, fruits, birds and other wildlife that I observed each month on my visit to the wood.
